The first trailer for Paul McGuigan’s bold reimagining of Mary Shelly’s iconic creation is now alive! James McAvoy plays the good doctor and Daniel Radcliffe dons a crazy hairdo to star as loyal sidekick Igor for Victor Frankenstein. 

The last time the source material was used to make an nontraditional adaptation, we got I, Frankenstein and even the indomitable Bill Nighy couldn’t salvage that hot mess. Thankfully, Paul McGuigan has a strong body of work that includes Lucky Number Slevin, Push and four episodes of BBC’ Sherlock, so there’s every reason to be optimistic that Victor Frankenstein will be an improvement.
