Trailer Trash: Skyfall (2012) #2

No sooner does he accompany the Queen to the opening of the Olympic Games, James Bond latest big screen adventure gets a full blown trailer. After the teaser got our pulses racing, this new trailer gives us our first real look at the plot, the first appearance of Q and Javier Bardem as the main villain, Silva.

Who would of thought a haircut could have been any worse than the one Bardem sported in No Country For Old Men, even Christopher Walken’s villain from A View To A Kill would openly mocked Bardem for crimes against haircuts. That said, this is about the only negative thing I can say about the trailer.

The action looks slick, there’s gadgets galore and a plot that sees the ghosts of M’s past come back to threaten MI6. Ben Whishaw’s Q gets a nice little exchange with Bond, and any doubts that Whishaw had been miscast look to be unfounded. For the first time since Casino Royale I am actually excited about a Bond film.

Starring Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Albert Finney and Ralph Fiennes, Skyfall lands into cinemas November 9th.
