Trailer Trash: Taken 2 (2012)

Jun 24, 2012 No Comments by

2009’s unexpected hit Taken propelled Liam Neeson to action hero status, last year’s Unknown might have been a bit by the numbers, and lets not talk about Battleship or Wrath of The Titans. The Grey was pretty good though.

Taken 2 sees Neeson back as retired CIA Operative Bryan Mills, and those “special set of skills” come in mighty handy once again.

The father of one of the kidnappers Mills killed whilst he rescued his daughter is out for revenge. However implausible the plot might be, old school action and Neeson on top menacing form = box office hit.

Taken grossed over $226 million on a budget of $25m, however the sequel has an estimated budget of $75m so a bigger haul at the box office will be needed. Directed by Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3, Colombiana), Taken 2 is out in the UK on October 5th.
