Prometheus Will Be Released with an R Rating

When the MPAA rated Prometheus an R, it was expected that cuts would be made to give the movie a more box office friendly PG-13 rating. This caused concern amongst the fans as we’ve been anticipating something more Alien than AVP.

Thankfully 20th Century Fox has decided to let the R rating stand and no cuts will be required. I have to say this is a impressive move from Fox, their faith in the finished film is clearly strong and Ridley Scott’ vision has not been compromised.

Us Brits can expect a 15 certificate when the film is released on June 1st, but America will have to wait an extra 7 days to see it.
