Trailer Trash: G.I Joe: Retaliation
I grew up playing with Action Force (the UK name for G.I Joe) figures and watching the cartoon series. Countless hours were spent re-staging battles and creating story-lines for my plastic friends.
Sorry, but the Action Force theme is better.
The ongoing battle between G.I Joe and terrorist faction Cobra was always going to be turned into a live action movie, but the first attempt in 2009 was a bit of a misfire.
A good cast aside Stephen Sommers big screen version was a bit of a let down, but the latest trailer for the forthcoming sequel suggests the makers have learned from their mistakes.
G.I Joe Retaliation sees the group framed as terrorists and go on the run to try and clear their name. Meanwhile Zartan is still in the White House, and with the Joe’s out of the picture Cobra are free to unleash their brand of terror.
Dwayne Johnson continues his run of being added to franchises in need of a boost, and if that’s not enough for you Bruce Willis is along for the ride as the original Joe. Directed by Jon M Chu (Step Up 2 & 3), the G.I Joe’s are back on the big screen on August 3rd.
