Waterworld and The Postman star Kevin Costner is the first member of today’s birthday club. Costner will be back on our screens as Pa Kent in The Man of Steel next year.  However, a couple of years ago Costner released a Country album called Untold Truths, it’s always good to have a back up plan Kev.

He’s no relation to Tom, but Oliver Hardy was half of the most famous comedy double act in cinema history. Well, at least until the two Coreys got together.

Jason Segel is 384 months old today and is a welcome addition to the party, the How I Met Your Mother star is also a established writer. He’s co-written Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Muppets and The Five Year Engagment, we wish the gentle giant many happy returns.

Hitchcock favourite Cary Grant would of been 108 if he was alive today, the Bristol born actor was 82 when he passed away in 1986.

Jane Horrocks is another guest at today’s birthday bash, the Little Voice and Ab Fab star also lends her voice to Fairy Mary in the Tinkerbell DTV sequels.

Jay Chou who played Kato in the recent Green Hornet is 33 today, and  Living legend Takeshi Kitano celebrates his 65th birthday as well. Better know as ‘Beat Takeshi’, Kitano has also garnered a acclaimed directing career that includes, Boiling Point (not the Snipes movie), Hana Bi and Zatoichi. He is currently working on a follow up to his crime thriller Outrage.

Finally director, producer and father of Charley, John Boorman is 79 today. His films include Deliverance, Hope and Glory and Excalibur. Whilst we will toast your good health Mr Boorman you frightened me to death as a child in your film Zardoz as you dressed James Bond like this;

Happy birthday one and all.
