Our 100th Post! The Cycle

As you might of guessed we love movies quite a bit around here. Movies have played an important and defining part of my life, it was through my passion for film that set me on my quest to try and become a script writer.

Since 2004 I have been one third of Jellyfielder Studios, in this time we have produced short films, a feature length film, an online documentary series and a portfolio of private hire and corporate work. My business partners and friends Mike and Lu wouldn’t mind me saying we’re a small company. Whilst we’re small our ambitions are big.

Over the years we have worked with some great people, when you’re making a micro budget movie you need all the help you can get. Through the Jellyfielders Podcast we have made friends with like minded filmmakers all over the world. We’ve spoke to small film companies all over America, Canada and the UK and none of them are short on ambition either.

After a break from producing creative work we were itching to make something, we wanted to go back to basics. That may sound like an obvious thing to do for a no budget short, but after the epic experience making our previous film we needed to make things simpler. This simple idea grew into The Cycle, our new short film. Directed by myself and Mike Jelves, Produced by Lu Camish and with original music by our very own Jim.

Starring John Bocelli as the unnamed man keeping a video diary durning his latest bout of insomnia. We have worked with John before on previous films and he can currently be seen in Victims, which has been well received at film festivals all over the world. The film was also screen at Raindance, which was where this lovely interview with director David Bryant and John was filmed.

Early next year there will be a couple of Jellyfielders Podcast specials on The Cycle, these will cover everything from developing the script, the shoot to post production.

We have entered the film into as many festivals as possible, so fingers crossed. We are extremely proud of the finished film and if you like the look of the trailer let us know what you think.
