Real Steel lacks box office punch

It’s just a brief one from us today since we have been recording episode 3 of the podcast. And as we’re generous a couple of mini-sodes and a full blown special. We spoil you!

Stateside at the box office, Real Steel took the friday top spot but it wasn’t the knock out performance we expected. The Hugh Jackman giant robot boxing movie took home an estimated $8.5 million on it’s first day, this should translate to an opening weekend in the $23-26 million mark.

Elsewhere in the chart, the George Clooney/Ryan Gosling political thriller, The Ides of March opened just short of $3.5 million not bad for the genre but below what both it’s stars are used to. Come back on monday for a full box office break down of the new releases and holdovers.
